JOB SUMMARY:
Performs communication activities to promote the growth of revenue, community and employee engagement, and awareness of BAC’s mission, programs, services, and community impact. Work is performed under direction with considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position seeks technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manages website content and updates. Oversees periodic updates and revision to site.
Manages and creates content for internal Paylocity communications.
Manages communication and creates content (i.e., messages, graphics, videos, and blog posts) for social media accounts (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, etc.).
Creates brand appropriate flyers, brochures, print materials, digital graphics etc.
Writes all press releases and pitches stories to appropriate media (local, regional, national and trade); writes columns for publications as requested
Serves as media liaison.
Plans and executes marketing of events via press relations, advertising, social media, web sites, and email campaigns.
Plans and creates quarterly newsletters for internal and external stakeholders.
Creates content of all collateral material for all departments.
Oversees the management of outside communication vendors, including contract and cost negotiations, as needed.
Ensures that brand materials and compliance standards are met throughout BAC and with external users.
Assists with planning and executing community relations events.
Serves as BAC Representative at community networking events.
Participates in the administration of the department budget.
Provides communication support to other departments as needed.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales management, public relations, or related field.
Five or more years of marketing, communications and/or fundraising experience.
An equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may suffice for the above qualification.
Must satisfy Florida Department Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements. May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must have a driver’s license, clean driving record, current insurance coverage and reliable transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with disability-service and multi-division organizations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of graphic, web, and print production processes; social media platforms; video scripts; and production and technical applications
Ability to utilize communication specific software such as Adobe Creative Cloud programs, social media scheduling platforms, and WordPress.
Knowledge of fundraising principles with emphasis on annual giving, event management and stewardship practices.
Knowledge of media and production processes and cycles and tactics for media management.
Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and applicable department/organization specific software.
Ability to write compelling marketing pieces in adherence to rules of composition and grammar.
Ability to correctly interpret and efficiently implement all applicable policies and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE):
Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort usually involving some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Usually involves some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, or standing.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, cold, rain, fumes).
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
Availability: Full Time
Pay rate: Starting at $56,500 per year
