- The staff chaplain provides spiritual/pastoral counseling to Community Hospice and Palliative Care staff and volunteers as identified and appropriate.
- Conducts religious services of prayer, worship and rituals for patient/families, as appropriate.
- Assists in the training, mentoring, utilization, and supervision of select volunteers as an extension of spiritual care services to Community Hospice and Palliative Care patients and caregivers.
- Networks regularly with other faith group clergy, hospital chaplains, and seminary clergy, in order to better utilize resources and increase the visibility of the Community Hospice and Palliative Care program.
- Board Certified Chaplain (or eligible) with the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains, or the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care.
