- Position Details Position DescriptionThe Department of Pharmacy in the UW School of Pharmacy, invites applications for a 100% FTE, 12-month service period, faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor without tenure (WOT) and serve as Co-Director for the newly recognized Center for Epilepsy Drug Discovery (CEDD).
- This position will be involved in emerging drug discovery research focused on the basic mechanisms of the epilepsies and therapy discovery for drug-resistant epilepsy, and will specialize in epidemiology, pathophysiology, molecular genetics and treatment of epilepsy and translational epilepsy research.
- Develop and/or maintain an externally funded, independent research/scholarship program, resulting in peer-reviewed publications and other scientific communicationsIn their role as CEDD Co-Director, be an integral member of the CEDD leadership team and work closely with the current co-Director and Director of Education (TBN) in the development of a strategic plan and initiatives to support CEDD’s overall scientific and educational mission.
- Support the Department and School's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as contribute to the larger service mission of the School of Pharmacy and the UW.Support the training mission facilitated by a new Health Sciences Education Building, a state-of-the-art interprofessional space for training future health professionals.
- Understanding of and demonstrated expertise in translational pharmacological research and drug discovery in the neurological sciences, including epilepsy.
