- The Associate Director, Major Gifts is responsible for identifying, building relationships with, and soliciting individuals for funds for museum initiatives including special exhibitions, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) programs, community-oriented education and public programs, and other activities that align with SFMOMA’s mission.
- Reporting to and partnering with the Director of Major Gifts, the person in this role must have an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues on the Annual Giving team and across the museum, including the Curatorial, Exhibitions, and Education & Community Engagement departments, as well as museum trustees and donor volunteer leaders to develop and execute strategies for programmatic support.
- Thoroughly documents all donor prospecting and stewardship efforts in Tessitura’s moves management system.
- Builds strong and productive relationships with colleagues throughout the museum, especially Annual Giving program managers, Curatorial, and Education & Community Engagement staff.
