The Associate Director of Engineering and Automation is a focal role within our organization. Success in this role hinges on the individual's ability to lead, define, and implement a comprehensive quality engineering strategy and executing on it that ensures the delivery of high-quality products and services to our members and internal partners. The Associate Director of Engineering and Automation will focus on quality engineering & will have an opportunity to partner and influence quality goals across segments. In this role you will work horizontally across different organizations for improving quality metrics through enforcing standards, governing quality principles, and improving quality through Automation frameworks and performance engineering that your team builds and owns. You will own the quality processes that help improve our software development processes, enhance product quality, and foster a culture of continuous improvement through a deliberate shift-left strategy.

Responsibilities :
Define overall quality engineering strategy, aligning it with business goals and ensuring its execution across all engineering teams within Humana Technology.
Define quality engineering processes, standards, and guidelines that will enable teams to meet their quality objectives and deliver reliable software.
Establish and maintain automation testing methodologies, enforcing quality principles through automation standards, and best practices to achieve consistent, high-quality software.
Define metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product quality, adoption, and effectiveness of quality engineering efforts.
Foster a highly skilled and motivated quality engineering team through leadership, mentoring, and professional development. This role will lead approximately 10-15 direct reports.
Develop a quality governance practice that enables quality-first mindset, effectively identify and reduces risk, and ensures business objectives and compliance goals are met.
Build automated testing frameworks, manage test tools, and strategies to optimize and streamline the testing process.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, keeping them informed about the quality automation adoptions, status, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with development teams to promote a culture of quality as an integral part of our software development process.
Demonstrate agility of thought and mature SDLC process in partnership with engineering leaders with effective integrations and shift-left opportunities.
Influence leaders in IT and Business on strategy, best practices, budget needs and staffing for Test Automation and Performance Testing.
Identify, select, and implement tools, process and people to support both of these competencies.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent work experience
8+ years of technical experience with minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience developing quality automation frameworks and scripts.
2+ years of proven experience in a leadership role in quality engineering, with a track record of successfully implementing quality automation strategies and processes.
Experience building test automation and performance engineering solutions meeting the need across technologies.
Strong technical knowledge and experience managing solutions with testing tools like Tosca, Selenium, Perfecto and performance testing using JMeter and LoadRunner
Good understanding of quality governance practices and willingness to establish processes and metrics to help achieve overall quality objective.
Proficiency in automation testing frameworks building integration, acceptance, and performance test automation.
Experience working on both on-prem and major cloud providers, Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP for application and framework hosting.
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test automation, continuous delivery, and quality assurance best practices
Experience in Agile and DevOps environments, driving quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Good understanding and knowledge around new and emerging technologies.
Data-driven decision-making capabilities, using quality metrics to improve product quality.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify issues and provide effective solutions.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$139,500 - $192,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
