The Counselor is accountable for professional practice of counseling and participation in the interdisciplinary care delivery model. Key Position Details: <ul><li>M-F 8am-4:30pm </li><li>No Weekends</li><li>Position is Primarily Assessments and Staff Coverage for Groups and Individuals</li><li>Benefit Eligible</li></ul> Job Description: Principle Responsibilities <ul><li>Patient/Family Assessment:<ul><li>Screen for admission to addiction services.</li><li>Participates in comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment of patient.</li><li>Assesses family dynamics and implications for successful treatment.</li><li>Addresses educational needs of patients and families and assigns appropriate work.</li></ul></li><li>Facilitate group, individual and family therapy.</li><li>Treatment Planning:<ul><li>Referrals to internal and external services.</li><li>Promoting family involvement in treatment.</li><li>Provide appropriate education to patient and family.</li><li>Discharge planning.</li></ul><ul><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul></li></ul> Job Requirements <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Sciences required and</li><li>2 to 5 years Adolescent Only: in treatment program working with adolescents. required</li><li>0 to 2 years At time of hire must sign a statement attesting to at least 2 years of freedom from a chemical use problem, immediately preceding their hire required</li><li>0 to 2 years experience in family dynamics and treatment issues with family required</li><li>0 to 2 years Adolescent Only: 30 hours of adolescent development training required</li><li>2 to 5 years experience in a treatment program preferred</li><li>Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor - MN Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy required Upon Hire</li><li>BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 30 Days</li></ul> Physical Demands Sedentary: Lifting weight Up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently
