Founded in 1993, School on Wheels' mission is to enhance educational opportunities for children without a home, from kindergarten through the twelfth grade.
Since that time School on Wheels has grown to serve nearly 400 children each year at 13 partner sites with the help of over 400 volunteer tutors.
We were then, and we remain, the only organization in Southern California dedicated exclusively to the educational needs of this fragile population.
Volunteering with School on Wheels is an opportunity to give something significant to a child and in return gain meaning in your own life.
Volunteering to tutor a homeless child with School on Wheels is only a one hour a week commitment and no teaching experience is needed.
