- We serve as the population health strategist, and policy, and planning authority for the City of New York, while also having a vast impact on national and international public policy, including programs and services focused on food and nutrition, anti-tobacco support, chronic disease prevention, HIV/AIDS treatment, family and child health, environmental health, mental health, and racial and social justice work, among others.
- Within the division, the Bureau of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (ESE) focuses on identifying and minimizing the risks of environmental and engineered hazards through field inspection, surveillance, scientific and engineering analysis, and data collection.
- ESE is looking to hire a City Research Scientist I to serve as a Data Analyst to support the Data, Research and Evaluation Team. The data unit is responsible for supporting regulatory units within ESE by performing analysis on environmental data from a wide variety of engineering and scientific data sources from the built environment.
- DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: Assist with utilizing data analytics and database administration to dig into inspection and research data to enable better decision-making through improvements and recommendations that align with strategic Agency objectives and ESE's regulatory enforcement goals for building water systems.
- Assist with database design and front-end development to support the relationship between data, field operations, compliance, and technical units at ESE including training staff in data collection practices and finding ways to make data accessible to staff.
