- JOB SUMMARY:The role of the Behavioral Health Camp Clinician at YMCA is to collaborate and coordinate efforts with the Camp Administration, Camp Support Specialist, camp counselors, and nurse to implement strategies or take steps to help campers with a diverse array of abilities and social and emotional needs to positively engage in summer camp.
- The Behavioral Health Camp Clinician will serve as the point person for consultation needs regarding campers who may require additional support in regards to social/emotional and behavioral needs as well as provide clinical feedback and support to camp staff.
- S/he will display and encourage the character traits of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility and utilize theCharacter Development Learning Institute approach to Positive Youth Development.
- JOB FUNCTIONS and Responsibilities: With the Camp Director coordinate the Camper Support Team, including co-leading Tuesday morning team meetings to review the Camper Concern Logs. Develop and creates individual support plans that recognize the uniqueness and interest of the child and works with team to ensure supports are in place.
- Support Camper Support Specialist to coordinate the actions or tasks identified in the Camper Support Plan. Which may include teaching and practicing emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills with campers as well as implementing behavioral modification plans.
