As part of an interdisciplinary team, and to promote optimal health outcomes, the MHC-SW completes comprehensive assessment and provides support and resources to identify and intervene regarding patient/family needs related to: mental health, trauma, environmental and caregiver safety; child abuse and neglect; trauma; grief and loss; adjustment to injury/illness; food, shelter and other basic needs; education and developmental needs, and parenting resource needs.

The Mary Bridge Mental Health Clinician-SW I is responsible for assisting pediatric patients and their families in addressing the social, psychological, developmental and economic impacts of illness, injury and chronic disease.

You will primarily work in the Special Commitment Center (SCC) and Pierce County Secure Transition Facility (PC-SCTF) High Acuity Program residents who may have any combination of serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, cognitive disorders, and/or physical/medical conditions that make participating in Sex Offender Treatment difficult.

Must hold and maintain an active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License (may be pending for up to 60 days if applied for within 7 days of being offered employment) or mental health Associate License (includes Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and Clinical Social Worker.

If not licensed, must hold and maintain an active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License or mental health Associate License (includes Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and Clinical Social Worker.

Must have at least a MA or MS in the mental health field (e.g. counseling, counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, psychology) and at least have a WA associate license in mental health counseling (LMHCA) or marriage and family therapy (LMFTA.

The Behavioral Health Provider possesses a high level of skill in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health concerns and/or serious mental illness or serious mental disorders.

Must be either 1) licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, 2) licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers or 3) credentialed or registered through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon ( M H A C B O) as a Qualified Mental Health Professional ( Q M H P) within the first 30 days of employment.

Licensed in the State of Washington; Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT.

The BHP conducts mental health evaluations to enhance the behavioral health treatment plan development and services for detainees with SMI/SMD to include referral to acute and/or inpatient mental health care as clinically determined.

Referrals may come from internal or external sources, including the treatment team for Pierce County Felony Mental Health Court. The Diversion Liaison assists clients with application or reinstatement of benefits, crisis bed placement, access to mental health services, access to substance abuse services, and referral to other resources such as housing, employment, etc.

Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals affected by mental and behavioral health challenges, with co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, or substance abuse treatment.
