We provide consultation and treatment services to adults and youth presenting to our Emergency Department. Some patients are assessed in the 6 bed Acute Psychiatry Unit (APU) embedded in the Emergency Department, others in the emergency department proper. Our service assesses about 4200 patients annually and is highly valued by our colleagues and stakeholders. The successful candidate will join a pool of emergency psychiatrists to provide shift coverage in the ED, 12 hours/day, 7 days/week, following a hospitalist scheduling model. Some weekend and holiday work is expected, with no overnights. Average of 13 shifts/month, with ample blocks of time off for a full-time position.
