Required License/Registration/Certifications Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) is required within one year of employment.

The R&R Center, currently under construction in Pawling, NY, will be a unique program dedicated to providing integrated sheltering, behavioral, and veterinary care for canine victims of cruelty rescued through the ASPCA’s partnership with the NYPD. The R&R Center team will work closely with ASPCA teams in New York City, including the Animal Recovery Center (ARC), the Animal Hospital (AAH), the Canine Annex for Recovery and Enrichment (CARE), and the Adoption Center.

Animal caretaker shall have progressively sufficient knowledge of different livestock (swine, poultry, sheep, goats) and rodent species husbandry requirements to enable them to perform all required duties of animal caretaker II These personnel must have the ability to understand and operate sophisticated technological equipment (ventilated cage systems, BSL2 hoods, automatic watering systems, etc.

Veterinary Assistant Qualifications/RequirementsThe primary role of all Caring Hands Animal Hospital employees is to ensure that our clients and patients experience top-notch customer service and excellent patient care.

To participate in all activities that are part of a dynamic laboratory animal care and use program including research, grant writing, equipment and process evaluation, tours and the development of standard operating procedures.

Role Description: An animal research technician supporting the Biopharma, non-biocontainment livestock and calf hutch facility research environment at the Zoetis Richland site. Provide training in standard animal procedures which may include handling, dosing, biological sampling, humane euthanasia, necropsy and biosecurity.
