This individual will oversee financial reporting, job costing, and cash flow management across multiple active construction projects, partnering closely with ownership and operations to drive profitability and financial discipline.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end closeManage job costing and project accounting , ensuring accurate tracking of costs, budgets, and profitability by projectPrepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules , including revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accountingMonitor project performance and partner with project managers to analyze variances, cost overruns, and margin trendsLead cash flow management , including forecasting, collections, and vendor paymentsEnsure compliance with GAAP and construction-specific accounting standardsManage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partnersDevelop and improve internal controls, processes, and reporting capabilitiesProduce financial statements and reporting packages for ownershipRequirements7 12+ years of accounting experience, with significant experience in construction or project-based environmentsStrong expertise in job costing and WIP accounting (critical)Experience working for a general contractor or subcontractorBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA preferred but not requiredExperience with construction accounting systems (e.g., Sage 300, Procore, QuickBooks Construction) is a plusStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders
