Construction Manager – Utility Scale Solar / BESS Location: New York (projects across NY / Northeast region) 6-Month Contract-to-Hire | Per Diem Available if Travel RequiredWe are supporting a leading renewable energy developer seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the Northeast. This individual will act as the onsite owner’s representative, managing EPC contractors and driving project execution across safety, schedule, quality, and budget.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong utility-scale solar construction background, particularly with heavy civil construction experience, who enjoys field leadership and fast-paced project delivery environments.What You’ll Be Doing:Serve as the onsite owner’s representative for utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and associated infrastructure projectsOversee EPC contractor performance across safety, schedule, quality, scope, and costLead project execution from preconstruction through commissioning, punch list completion, and closeoutMonitor daily construction activities, progress milestones, and schedule adherenceIdentify project risks, delays, and field execution issues, implementing corrective action plans as neededReview contractor schedules, progress reports, QA/QC documentation, testing reports, and construction deliverablesConduct routine site walks, safety observations, and quality inspectionsSupport invoice validation, milestone verification, and change order reviewCoordinate with internal engineering, project management, third-party consultants, and contractorsMaintain clear communication across project stakeholders through daily/weekly/monthly meetingsEnsure construction execution aligns with company standards, contract requirements, and regulatory expectationsWhat We’re Looking For:5+ years of construction management experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy projectsStrong utility-scale solar PV construction experience (80MW+ preferred)Strong civil construction background, including experience with sitework, grading, earthwork, drainage, foundations, underground utilities, access roads, and related field executionExperience managing EPC contractors in an owner’s rep, developer, or construction leadership capacityBESS construction experience strongly preferredSubstation / HV infrastructure experience is a plusStrong understanding of construction scheduling, field execution, QA/QC, safety compliance, and contractor managementOSHA 30 certification requiredProcore experience preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsComfortable working onsite full-time and traveling as neededPreferred Backgrounds: Candidates from renewable developers, EPC contractors, or owner’s rep environments with utility-scale project delivery experience.
