Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Location: Remote/ Preferably in the DC metro areaOur client is a growing government contracting firm delivering mission-critical solutions to federal agencies. With a strong pipeline and expanding portfolio, we are seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to help scale our operations, strengthen financial rigor, and position the company for its next phase of growth.Position OverviewThe CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the overall financial strategy, reporting, compliance, and capital structure of the company. This role requires a leader with experience , deep knowledge of government contracting , (preferably) and a track record of driving operational and financial excellence in complex, regulated environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of financial management, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, audit, and complianceOversee financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and ensure readiness for public company standards (SEC reporting, internal controls, etc.)Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, providing insights on growth, profitability, and risk managementEnsure compliance with government contract regulations, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirementsDrive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processesLead cash management, capital allocation, and financing strategy (debt/equity)Establish and maintain strong internal controls and scalable financial systemsSupport M&A activities, including due diligence and integrationManage relationships with auditors, investors, banks, and government agenciesBuild and mentor a high-performing finance teamQualificationsBachelor s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred)10 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including prior CFO or senior finance executive rolePublic company experience required (SEC reporting, SOX compliance, investor relations exposure)Strong background in government contracting (FAR, CAS, DCAA audits, cost accounting)Demonstrated success scaling financial operations in a growth-oriented environmentExperience with ERP systems and financial reporting toolsExceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience with IPO readiness or taking a company publicBackground in private equity-backed or high-growth environmentsFamiliarity with contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M) and project-based accountingWhy Join UsOpportunity to shape the financial future of a high-growth GovCon firmDirect impact on strategy and executive decision-makingCompetitive compensation, including base salary of 300,00-500,000, bonus, and equityComprehensive benefits package
