Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

The Vascular Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing direct care for patients undergoing radiology guided procedures in which patients undergo moderate sedation in the Vascular Radiology, MRI, CT, and Ultrasound. The RN will develop and coordinate care in collaboration with area Fellows and attending Physicians. The primary focus is pain management, patient/family education and discharge planning.Duties include but not are not limited to:Educates patients and family members and serves as an expert resource to the radiology department on patient care needs.Provides care through all phases of diagnostic and interventional procedures including preparation, sedation and recovery of patients.Interprets and responds appropriately to physiological readings which includes electrocardiogram, noninvasive blood pressures and peripherial oxygen saturation and any dynamic monitored changes and report them to the provider.Collaborates with the interventional recovery unit team ensuring continuity of patient care, both pre-procedurally and post-procedurally.Responsible for direct patient care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care and identifying outcomes for patient undergoing invasive procedures in interventional radiology.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total RewardsPay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awardsPaid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryWork Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10 hour tours between 7:30am - 6:00pm.
