Position SummaryThe Director of Human Resources serves as a key member of the Executive Committee and is responsible for leading all aspects of human resources for a luxury hotel or resort. This role champions a culture of service excellence, employee engagement, and leadership development while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.The ideal candidate is a strategic hospitality HR leader with extensive luxury hotel experience and a passion for cultivating an exceptional workplace culture that supports world-class guest experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & CultureServe as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and Executive Committee on all human capital mattersFoster a culture aligned with luxury hospitality standards, emphasizing service excellence, collaboration, and accountabilityLead initiatives focused on employee engagement, retention, and leadership developmentDrive organizational effectiveness and workforce planning strategiesTalent Acquisition & DevelopmentOversee recruitment strategies to attract top hospitality talent across all departmentsImplement best practices in onboarding, training, and professional developmentDevelop succession planning programs and leadership pipelinesSupport department heads with talent management and performance developmentEmployee Relations & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor regulationsManage employee relations matters with professionalism and discretionConduct investigations and guide leaders through disciplinary and performance management processesMaintain policies and procedures that align with company standards and legal requirementsCompensation, Benefits & Workforce PlanningOversee compensation structures, benefits administration, and payroll coordinationMonitor labor budgets and staffing levels in partnership with finance and operations teamsEnsure competitive and equitable compensation practicesTraining & Service CultureLead training initiatives focused on luxury service standards and leadership developmentCoordinate learning programs that reinforce the brand's service philosophyPromote a positive workplace culture focused on employee well-being and recognitionRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management7–10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in hotels or resortsProven experience supporting executive leadership teams in a hospitality environmentStrong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relationsExceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in Forbes Five-Star or AAA Five Diamond hospitality environmentsExperience working in union environments (if applicable)Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent)Experience with HRIS and workforce analytics platformsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive executive compensation packagePerformance-based incentive programComprehensive health, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development and career advancement opportunities
