Janitorial SupervisorThe Janitorial Supervisor is a Working Supervisor responsible for the total operational success of assigned buildings or zones. This role is a "player-coach" who performs manual cleaning duties alongside the team while overseeing multiple Team Leads and their respective crews. The Supervisor ensures 100% compliance with the Scope of Work, resolves on-site challenges, and provides formal personnel recommendations to the Operations Manager. Operational Oversight: Conduct daily area-wide inspections to ensure all zones meet contract standards; identify service gaps and direct Team Leads to rectify them immediately. Tactical Problem Solving: Resolve on-site emergencies, including chemical spills, equipment failures, or urgent client requests, by reallocating resources across teams. Personnel Management: Document staff attendance, quality of work, and safety violations. Provide formal written recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding disciplinary actions, promotions, or hiring needs. Safety & Compliance: Enforce 100% compliance with OSHA standards and company safety protocols. Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are updated and that all staff are using required PPE correctly. Supply Stewardship: Perform weekly inventory audits across all assigned areas. Submit replenishment requests and monitor chemical usage to prevent waste or theft. Training Coordination: Lead specialized training for Team Leads and staff on new equipment, advanced cleaning techniques, and digital reporting tools. Cleaning Execution: Spend a significant portion of the shift (50%+) performing high-level or gap-fill cleaning duties (floor care, specialized disinfection, or restroom sanitation) alongside the staff. Other duties may be assigned. Key Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years in professional janitorial services with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Skills: Strong technical knowledge of floor care, chemicals, and industrial equipment. Proficiency in using mobile apps for time-tracking and reporting. Communication: Ability to provide clear directives to a diverse workforce; Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred. Physical: Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours and lift up to 40 lbs. What you will need: Must be able to work safely in environments that may include cleaning chemicals, equipment noise, and various facility conditions. Must maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times. Must demonstrate reliability, accountability, and strong attention to detail. Must have schedule flexibility for the weekend, holiday, and night shifts. Travel: This position requires regular movement between multiple buildings, terminals, or operational areas within the assigned radius. Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must be able to operate heavy floor machinery (buffers/extractors) and frequently lift, carry, push, or pull items such as vacuums, trash bags, and cleaning supplies weighing approximately 4050 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and equipment noise/vibration. The employee must be able to respond to operational needs and relocate quickly in the event of an emergency.
