Staff Accountant
This position will primarily focus on servicing Dragonfly's clients, providing comprehensive accounting services and financial support. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing tax filings, and collaborating with both local and remote clients and stakeholders.DescriptionAbout Dragonfly:Help build solutions to some of the most complex challenges facing our communities today. We're looking for people who are comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and motivated by the opportunity to build solutions that create lasting social impact.ResponsibilitiesMaintain a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Manage and maintain accurate financial records for Dragonfly and its clientsPrepare sales tax, business tax, franchise & excise tax, and property tax returnsOversee and support Bookkeepers, providing guidance, training, and quality control to ensure accuracy and efficiencyReview financial reports for errors, discrepancies, and areas for improvementCommunicate and collaborate effectively with remote clients and stakeholdersProvide exceptional customer service and support to Dragonfly's clientsAssist with month-end and year-end closing processesContribute to the development and improvement of accounting procedures and systemsEnsure accurate and efficient accounting processesManage A/P & A/R processes using BILL, Harvest and other related platformsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA certification or actively pursuing certification is a plusMinimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experienceProficiency in using accounting software, (QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor preferred)High level of technical proficiency learning and using digital toolsWorking knowledge of tax laws and regulationsExcellent attention to detail and analytical skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational and time management abilitiesNaturally curious, with a willingness to ask questions, seek clarification, and explore solutions when faced with unfamiliar transactions or challengesFamiliarity with Google Workspace, particularly Google SheetsFamiliarity with expense management platforms such as Divvy, Expensify or similar toolsStrong spreadsheet skills for data analysis, reporting, and financial modelingExperience with project management platforms like ClickUp, Monday.com, or Asana to track and monitor client projectsNonprofit bookkeeping and grant reporting experience is a plusBenefits
