Tax ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax compliance and planning for a diverse portfolio of clients, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, passthrough entities, corporations, real estate and nonprofit organizations. The Tax Manager will ensure accurate, timely tax return preparation and review (individual, fiduciary, partnership and corporate filings), deliver proactive tax planning, perform technical research, manage client relationships, and mentor and supervise staff to maintain high-quality service and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and review preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns including individual (1040), fiduciary (1041), gift (709), estate (706), partnership (1065), S-Corp (1120S) and C-Corp (1120) returns.Provide tax planning and consulting for high net worth individuals (HNW/HNWI), trusts and estates, family offices, pass-through entities and corporations, emphasizing tax-efficient strategies and wealth transfer planning.Oversee tax compliance for real estate, construction, professional services and nonprofit clients, including passthrough entity allocations and basis calculations.Perform complex tax research and provide written technical memoranda and recommendations on federal, state and local tax issues, including partnership tax and passthrough entity matters.Serve as the primary client contact for tax engagements, coordinating with wealth advisers, attorneys (JD/LLM), real estate counsel and other professionals to deliver integrated solutions.Review workpapers and mentor tax staff and seniors; provide training, delegate assignments, conduct performance reviews, and ensure quality control across engagements.Coordinate and execute tax accounting (ASC 740) activities, transaction tax due diligence, and tax provision work as needed.Identify opportunities for business development and assist in proposal preparation, client presentations and cross-selling of firm services.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes, filing requirements, and industry trends; implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.Utilize tax research tools and tax software, ensure proper electronic filing and document management, and leverage Microsoft Office for client reporting and presentations.QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field; Masters in Tax, JD or LLM preferred.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required; Enrolled Agent (EA) or active bar membership/LLM is a plus.7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting with exposure to high net worth individuals, trust and estate planning, passthrough entities, partnerships and corporate tax.Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1041, 709, 706, 1065, 1120S and 1120 returns and familiarity with passthrough entity reporting and partnership allocations.Strong technical skills in tax research, partnership tax, estate and gift tax matters, and tax planning for HNW clients.Experience with real estate and construction-related tax issues, professional service providers, and nonprofit tax compliance is highly desirable.Proven supervisory or management experience (Senior Tax Manager/Tax Supervisor preferred) with ability to coach staff and ensure quality deliverables.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex tax issues to clients and stakeholders.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with common tax software and electronic filing systems.High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to manage multiple priorities and client engagements under tight deadlines.
