ASU Regional Operations Manager - Vernon, CA

The Regional ASU Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all facilities used in the production of medical cryogenic liquids and industrial pipeline gases on a Regional basis These duties include quality control, personnel staffing and training issues; safety, health and environmental regulatory compliance; process optimization, equipment maintenance and supervision of operating and capital expenditures. The Regional Operations Manager reports to the Zone Director Bulk Production. Essential Function Achievement of all safety, production, efficiency, quality and budgetary targets for the Region Supervising the recruiting and hiring of Managers and technicians within the Region Support of local personnel during all planned and unplanned plant outages Support Plant Managers with the implementation and execution of all Department Initiatives Coordination of all plant maintenance activities within the region Coordination of production scheduling with Product Management and Logistics Departments Support of the Sales Team Qualify and supervise vendors and contractors Assist department head with data and budgetary preparations and presentations. Fill in for a Plant Manager as may be required during his or her absence. Willingness to be "on call " 24/7 for plant needs of any kind, (personnel, equipment, customer problems) Complete knowledge of all MTG safety, compliance and quality policies. Complete knowledge of all MTG personnel policies as they relate to ASU's Complete knowledge of all in-region pipeline contracts and obligations Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience *Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience with a minimum of 5 years specific management experience in the production of medical and industrial atmospheric gases. *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities *Experience interacting with Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies (FDA, EPA, OSHA, DHS. Etc.) *Experience implementing and maintaining quality systems including ISO 9001-2015 and FSSC 22000 *Experience implementing and maintaining Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) *Understanding the principles of Cryogenic Air Separation *Understanding the mechanical principles of rotating equipment *Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook. *Understanding of General Accounting Techniques *Advanced statistical and analytical skills *Possession of a valid driver's license with clean driving record *Comfortable with public speaking PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stationary Position - Frequently Move/Traverse - Rarely Stationary Position/Seated- Frequently Transport/Lifting - NA Transport/Carrying - NA Exerting Force/Pushing - NA Exerting Force/Pulling-NA Ascend/Descend - NA Balancing - Occasionally Position Self/Stooping- Occasionally Position Self/Kneeling- Occasionally Position Self/Crouching- NA Position Self/Crawling- NA Reaching - Rarely Handling - NA Grasping- NA Feeling- NA Communicate/Talking - Constantly Communicate/Hearing - Constantly Repetitive Motions - Rarely Coordination - Rarely TRAVEL: Position will require travel within region and as need outside of region.
