Job Details Location: Rochester, NY 14642 (Rochester, New York) Assignment Type: Travel RN assignment / Travel nursing job Unit: Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR) — Circulator ONLY / OR Circulator Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) Schedule: 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week) Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 11, 2026) Openings: 5 Cardiac OR RN positions available Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,360–$2,480/week Qualifications & Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State — NY License ONLY (not compact) Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience; cardiac OR / CVOR or perioperative nursing experience strongly preferred Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required Operating room experience in a Level I trauma center or high-volume cardiac surgery program highly preferred Demonstrated ability to function as an OR Circulator during complex cardiac procedures Key Responsibilities Serve as Cardiac OR Circulator for a wide range of advanced cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG, TAVIs/TAVR, VAD implantation, ECMO initiation/management, artificial heart support, and heart transplant cases Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the multidisciplinary perioperative team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to OR protocols, infection control, and surgical safety checklists Provide compassionate, age-appropriate perioperative care and patient advocacy for individuals undergoing cardiac surgery Demonstrate strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills in a fast-paced cardiac OR setting This travel nursing Cardiac OR RN role is ideal for experienced perioperative nurses looking for challenging cardiac cases and professional growth.
