Assistant Football Coach

Summary:This position assists with coaching duties, operating under NCAA bylaws. Assist the Head Football Coach with recruitment and training for athletic competition and participate in the overall coordination of the program, as appropriate.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist the head Football coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competitions.Responsible for specific football skill area trainingAssist in identifying and recruiting potential student-athletes for the tennis program per NCAA rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards.Provide leadership and guidance to student-athletes within the tennis program.Delegate and multi-task responsibilities that the head tennis coach assigns.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferredAt least 1 to 3 years of coaching experience in high school or collegiate levelMust be able to travel for recruitmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of applicable team or individual sports and playing rulesKnowledge of NCAA student-athlete academic eligibility requirementsKnowledge of NCAA recruiting rulesKnowledge of travel/lodging planning and schedulingCompliance with all NCAA rules and regulationsStrong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse communityDemonstrated competitive coaching skills in the area of sporting specialtyOrganizing and coordinating skillsAbility to foster a cooperative work environmentAbility to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertiseAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety proceduresAbility to multi-task responsibilities
