Traffic Engineer

Job Description Our Transportation Services team is looking for a confident and passionate Traffic Engineer to join our team in the Twin Cities metro. As a Traffic Engineer, you will work with project managers to lead elements of traffic design including traffic signal and roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, staging and traffic control plans, and will provide geometric design guidance from a traffic perspective. Typical design projects are for State, County, and City clients.What You Will Be Doing:Provide support to transportation and municipal project managers in transportation related design, traffic signal and roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, staging and traffic control plansDevelops, coordinates and completes the final design and the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates associated with traffic design workCoordinates the construction administration of signal and traffic management projectsLead standalone traffic studies and contribute to complex corridor studies with cities, counties, and DOTs across our service areasTraffic studies, traffic operations reports, data collection supervisionPlans and organizes technical project work assignmentsDirects & supervises the work of other engineers and techniciansAssists with the training and development of professional and technical staffEstablishes specialty area of expertise in traffic engineering designTravels periodically to work site and other project related locationsWhat We Are Looking For:B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited collegeCurrently registered as Professional Engineer (P.E.) or able to obtain within six (6) monthsGenerally requires six (6) years of progressive experience or Master's Degree plus five (5) years of progressive experienceProfessional Traffic Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) preferred, not requiredThorough knowledge in related software (i.e. Bentley Open Roads Designer, VISSIM, AutoCad Civil 3D, SignCAD, MS Excel and Word)Effective interpersonal skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsBolton & Menk will currently not be providing visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.Salary Range: $68,000- $120,000 depending on years of experience and credentialsBolton & Menk is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to specific geographic location.
