DESCRIPTION
Located in Camden, Maine, Bay Chamber Concerts and Music School's mission is to enrich the lives of people in our community through high-quality concerts and music education programs. With a two-pronged approach to promoting excellence in the performing arts, through education and live music programming, Bay Chamber connects a wide range of audiences and ages to some of the most vibrant music and musicians in the world. Bay Chamber is seeking candidates for a 32-hour per week Communications Coordinator who will support the work of the Bay Chamber team - with a focus on marketing, development and office management. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with community-based arts nonprofit administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing
Draft weekly email newsletters, press releases and other written copy
Ensure online event calendars are up to date
Assist with large mailings and other marketing projects
Assist with maintenance of website and other digital assets
Development
See that gifts are processed correctly and ensure that thank you letters are sent promptly
Collaborate with Director on design of appeal, newsletters and other development materials
Work with Director to ensure seasonal mailings go out promptly by coordinating staff and volunteers to help
Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns as required, including annual business sponsorship appeal
Ticketing/Concerts
Processes ticket sales orders in person and over the phone
Manage ticketing box office at public events as required
Manage ticketing set-up and reporting in Tessitura as required
Format and print concert programs
Assist at concerts, as required and attend to artist hospitality requests
Administrative
Ensure the office is well-stocked and reorder supplies when necessary
Answer phones when available
Assist with day-to-day operations as required
QUALIFICATIONS
The desired combination of education and relevant experience for this position includes a bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience - however, candidates with any combination of experience and education likely to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful in the position will be considered.

Strong computer skills, including experience with data entry, Excel and Microsoft Office 365

Passion for music and the arts
COMPENSATION:
The position’s starting salary range is between $40,000 to $42,000 depending on relevant experience, skills, and expertise. This is a 32 hour per week position with the opportunity to grow that offers 12 paid holidays, vacation and sick time. Health insurance is available. Weekend and evening work will be required periodically for concerts or other special events.
