Manufacturing Engineer I

SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer I determines and implements best practices and methods for fabrication, welding, powder coating, and assembly processes to improve productivity, enhance ergonomics and overall plant flow. This position requires occasional travel for such tasks as training, investigation, field repair, and equipment commissioning.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Evaluate production process methods to identify and suggest process improvements to supervisorUse MRP and CAD software to create fixtures and tooling and route the jobs through manufacturing operationsTroubleshoot and suggest corrective actions on a timely basis, including root cause corrective actionParticipate in project management and resolve relevant issues and complete tasks on timeCollaborate with operators to implement effective solutions to a wide variety of production challengesDevelop and coordinate technical training programs for direct and indirect labor, including orientation, process changes and updates and any other technical training needsAssist Design Engineering with design, feasibility review, testing and implementation of new programs or program modificationsQualification of new processes, including documentation, training and certification of production operators/techniciansWork independently with moderate supervision and deliver excellent results on timeCommunicates well with customer, supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other personnelQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.0-2 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer roleExperience in a manufacturing setting preferredMust possess effective written, verbal and oral communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and WordKaizen / Continuous Improvement experience a plus, as well as 5S methodologyUnderstands principles of Lean such as lead time reduction and SMEDWilling to work flexible shifts and change work schedules to support production12 Expected Behaviors of Actively Engaged Person - 100% Responsible, Trustworthy, Team Player, Clear Communicator, Empathy, Humility, Emotional Self-Control, Resolves Conflict Directly, Positive Attitude, Respects Others, Problem Solver, and Agile.
