The company employs over 2,000 individuals and has three manufacturing facilities in Gainesville, Georgia; Valley, Alabama; and its headquarters in Tyler, Texas. Job SummaryThe Lead Parts Room Clerk is responsible for supporting and coordinating the daily operations of the parts storeroom to ensure maintenance personnel have timely access to accurate parts, tools, and inventory needed to support production operations. This position assists with inventory control, work order administration, receiving and issuing parts, cycle counting, organization of the parts room, and maintaining accurate inventory records within the maintenance management system.The Lead Parts Room Clerk serves as a key support resource for the Maintenance department by helping oversee parts room processes, supporting inventory accuracy, assisting with training and guidance of Parts Room Clerks, and ensuring compliance with company safety and food safety standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications (Required)High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum 2 years of experience in a parts room, inventory control, maintenance support, or manufacturing environment preferredBasic mechanical aptitude requiredComputer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) requiredAbility to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environmentStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and inventory accuracyAbility to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with inventory management systems such as Imaint or other CMMS systems preferred Experience with cycle counting and min/max inventory systems preferred Prior food manufacturing or industrial maintenance support experience preferred Familiarity with barcode systems and serial number tracking preferred Formal training, classes, or certifications related to mechanics, inventory control, or maintenance support is a plus Strong time management and multitasking abilities Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Key ResponsibilitiesNOTE: This description is not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties to meet the organization's ongoing needs; these duties are considered marginal.Parts Room Operations & Inventory ControlSupport the daily operations of the parts storeroom to ensure accurate inventory management and efficient parts distribution Prepare work orders and issue correct parts to maintenance personnel in a timely manner Receive, verify, stock, label, and organize incoming parts and materials Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy Maintain accurate inventory records within the Imaint system and other inventory management systems Perform routine cycle counts and assist with inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to Purchasing and Maintenance leadership Assist in maintaining minimum and maximum inventory levels for critical spare parts Track inventory using barcode systems, serial numbers, and inventory control procedures Locate, retrieve, and deliver parts requested by maintenance technicians and production support personnel Ensure all parts and materials are properly stored, labeled, and secured Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of the parts room and storage areas Assist with inventory adjustments, obsolete inventory management, and parts standardization initiatives Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory organization, workflow, and storeroom efficiency Leadership & Team SupportAssist with training and supporting Parts Room Clerks on inventory procedures, systems, and departmental expectations Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure efficient operations and accurate inventory practices Coordinate daily priorities and communicate effectively with maintenance technicians, supervisors, vendors, and management Assist with prioritizing parts requests and maintenance support activities based on production needs Support departmental communication regarding inventory shortages, urgent repairs, and operational priorities Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment Administrative ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate records related to inventory transactions, receipts, work orders, and parts usage Utilize Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting and communication Assist with preparing reports related to inventory levels, cycle counts, shortages, and usage trends Support vendor coordination and communicate discrepancies or damaged materials as needed Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and maintenance operations Work EnvironmentThe Lead Parts Room Clerk position takes place primarily in the parts room and occasionally on the production floor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus and efficiency.
