Production Scheduling Coordinator

The Production Scheduling Coordinator supports plant production operations by developing, maintaining, and adjusting production schedules to align customer demand, inventory requirements, raw material availability, and plant capacity. This role partners closely with Production, Processing, Sales, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to support efficient product flow, minimize downtime, and maintain service expectations across the operation. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate scheduling data, monitoring production performance, coordinating raw material timing, and supporting operational continuity in a fast-paced poultry manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities Production Scheduling & PlanningDevelop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and operational capacity. Coordinate scheduling activities with Production, Processing, and Supply Chain teams to align production priorities and operational requirements. Monitor schedule adherence and adjust production plans to address operational changes, equipment downtime, labor availability, or shifts in customer demand. Balance production schedules to support inventory targets while minimizing waste, downtime, and operational disruption. Review production outputs and scheduling data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and schedule accuracy. Inventory & Material CoordinationMonitor raw material and finished goods inventory levels to support uninterrupted production operations. Coordinate raw material availability and timing to ensure alignment with scheduled production requirements. Enter purchase orders for raw materials and related items as needed to support production continuity. Partner with Procurement and Operations teams to address material shortages, substitutions, or supply constraints impacting production schedules. Operational Communication & CoordinationCommunicate production schedules, schedule revisions, and production priorities to applicable departments in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and support operational execution. Provide scheduling updates and production status information to leadership and operational stakeholders as needed. Support coordination efforts during schedule changes, product transitions, and operational adjustments. Systems, Reporting & Process SupportMaintain accurate scheduling records, inventory information, production data, and related documentation within ERP/MRP systems. Utilize Microsoft Excel and other scheduling tools to analyze production trends, inventory needs, and operational performance. Assist with process improvement initiatives related to scheduling accuracy, production efficiency, and inventory management. Support implementation of operational changes, process improvements, and system updates related to production scheduling activities. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone. This position has no direct reports. QualificationsEducation/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant supply chain, production scheduling, or manufacturing planning experience may be considered. Minimum of 2 years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing coordination, supply chain planning, or related operational support roles preferred. Experience in food manufacturing, poultry processing, or high-volume manufacturing environments preferred. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems preferred. Skills & CompetenciesStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business systems used for scheduling and inventory analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills across multiple operational departments. Ability to interpret production data and adjust schedules based on operational needs. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management and scheduling activities. Work EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in a professional office environment. The role requires regular use of computers, phones, and other office equipment to perform daily job functions, sitting or standing.  This position may require occasional visits to production facilities or other operational areas.
