Technical Accounting Manager

Ascendo Resoures is currently seeking a Technical Accounting Manager for a full-time, remote role. Salary range is up to $120,000 and travel on-site will be required once a quarter. Our client is a global entertainment company — $4.3B+ in revenue, ~3,000 employees, with operations across North America, Asia, and the Caribbean.We're looking for a sharp, self-driven Technical Accounting Manager to join our finance team.This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role. You'll report directly to the VP of Finance and own a broad scope: external SEC reporting, multi-entity consolidations, and technical accounting across a complex, multi-geography organization. There's also meaningful growth ahead: as the function scales, you'll be positioned to build and lead your own team.🏢 ABOUT THE ROLELocation: Queens, NY — hybrid with quarterly on-site visits (travel reimbursed). Northeast U.S. preferred (Philadelphia to Boston corridor).Reports to: VP of FinanceSchedule: Core business hours; flexibility for your time zone✅ WHAT YOU'LL OWNLead preparation and review of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and related footnote disclosuresManage corporate consolidation across multiple entities and geographies, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translationServe as the firm's subject matter expert on ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718Research and document technical accounting positions; prepare memos for management and auditorsMonitor and implement evolving FASB and IASB standardsSupport SOX 404 compliance and internal controls over financial reportingPartner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, and Operations on complex transactionsMentor junior staff and contribute to process improvement initiatives🎯 WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORRequired:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA required — or actively in progress (we'll support you)5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 or large regional public accounting firmDeep knowledge of US GAAP; hands-on experience with ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, and consolidation accountingExperience preparing or supporting SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, S-1)Exposure to IFRS and multi-entity global consolidationStrong Excel skills; self-motivated with excellent communication across all levelsPreferred:SOX 404 compliance and internal controls experienceFamiliarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)Experience with SEC comment lettersMBA or advanced degree💰 COMPENSATION & BENEFITSBase salary: $100,000 – $120,000Discretionary bonus: up to 6 weeks' salaryMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with employer matchingGenerous PTOCPA and CPE sponsorshipEmployee rates at Hyatt and Hilton propertiesAccess to concerts, golf, and fine diningLong-term incentive opportunities
