Director, Technical Accounting & Financial ReportingOverviewThis opportunity is with a high-growth financial technology organization focused on scaling and maturing its accounting and reporting infrastructure. The role will lead the Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting function and play a critical role in strengthening financial operations, enhancing reporting processes, and supporting the company through its next phase of growth. This position operates in a fast-paced, evolving environment and partners closely with Finance, Legal, Compliance, FP&A, and executive leadership on complex accounting matters and strategic initiatives.Position ResponsibilitiesTechnical Accounting Leadership & PolicyServe as the internal subject matter expert on complex technical accounting matters under U.S. GAAP, including areas such as revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, credit losses, leases, debt, income taxes, and business combinationsLead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of corporate accounting policies in partnership with Finance leadershipResearch, evaluate, and document complex accounting transactions through formal technical accounting memorandaPartner cross-functionally with Finance and operational teams to provide accounting guidance and support accurate financial forecasting and reportingAdvise business stakeholders on accounting implications and financial risks associated with new products, partnerships, transactions, and strategic initiativesSupport month-end and quarter-end close activities related to technical accounting areas, including review of reconciliations and supporting analysesFinancial Reporting & ControlsOversee preparation of audited financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting schedules while establishing scalable external reporting processesManage reporting timelines and coordinate deliverables across internal teams and external auditors to ensure timely completion of financial reporting obligationsSupport delivery of entity-level financial statements and regulatory or lender reporting requirementsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and automation capabilitiesAssist in designing and strengthening internal controls over financial reporting in preparation for a future SOX-compliant environmentPartner with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams on ERP and reporting infrastructure initiatives, including intercompany reporting and consolidation processesRole OverviewThe Director, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting will lead complex accounting and external reporting activities within a rapidly growing financial services organization.
