Warehouse AssistantJob DescriptionThe Warehouse Assistant is responsible for performing all warehouse duties including shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and stocking of products and materials daily. This role involves driving liquefied gas- or electric-powered industrial truck equipment and devices such as forklifts and booms to move, lift, stack, or transport products, equipment, or materials within the warehouse or factory.ResponsibilitiesProcess and expedite daily domestic and international shipments, prepare BOLs, shipping documents, schedule pickups, and obtain freight rates using FedEx, UPS, freight, and ERP systems.Pack, skid, band, wrap, weigh, and label materials safely and accurately for shipment.Inspect incoming and outgoing materials to ensure accuracy, condition, and proper packaging.Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and carts to move, load, unload, stock, and transport materials safely.Disassemble, reassemble, and adjust products as specified to ensure proper performance.Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and supply materials to the production floor as needed.Communicate shipment status, inventory needs, and work-related issues across departments.Participate in continuous improvement efforts, maintain positive working relationships, and perform equipment maintenance and other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsMinimum of 1+ years of related warehouse experience or equivalent.Knowledge of manufacturing procedures.Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures including inventory control, proper stock storage, stock rotation, housekeeping, safety, shipping, and receiving.Ability to read and speak English to understand safety and work instructions.Basic mathematical aptitude for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Maintain a professional attitude and follow all company policies and procedures.Computer literacy.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with order picking, packaging, and packing orders.Proficiency in using sit-down forklifts.Familiarity with shipping through UPS and FedEx.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of SCHAUMBURG, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
