Its San Francisco Office, Hanwha Life Digital Lab is the lead operator of the Hanwha AI Center, an applied artificial intelligence research and development center, jointly operated with other industry leading financial subsidiaries of the Hanwha Group, where the AI Center's role is to create new products, services and applications leveraging the power of artificial intelligence.About This RoleHanwha Life Digital Lab is seeking a Head of Software Engineering whose role is to build and manage a software engineering capability designed to support the firm's software development requirements with a special focus on Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain applications.The role will start by building from ground-up, a cost-efficient, in-house software development capability that is based overseas (Europe, Asia or LATAM), which can support the development requirements of the firm. After the development foundation is built, the hire will manage the team to build software that the firm requires.The role will also serve as a technical specialist to the greater Hanwha Finance Network (composed of several entities collaborating with the Hanwha AI Center) in its efforts to implement AI and Blockchain powered products and services into its core businesses.What You'll DoBuild from ground up an in-house Software Development capability, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and/or Blockchain product developmentManage a Software Development team for development projectsServe as a technical specialist and architect for software development initiativesPartake in a cross-functional team of designers, researchers and product managers, where the position will advise/recommend development approaches for AI and/or Blockchain-powered productsAssess technical capabilities/skills of any potential engineering hires and third-party solutions providersAssess capability gaps in the current development capabilities and provide solutions to mitigate shortfallsWhat We're Looking ForMinimum QualificationsMinimum of ten years of experience in software engineering with five years of management experienceProven track record (five years) in building products and platforms at scaleStrong full-stack development capability/history (Mobile, Web, Desktop, Cloud, AI/ML, Blockchain)Capability of designing xmcpwfu architecture for a fully implemented cloud based technical solutionPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience building and managing an overseas engineering workforceExperience integrating financial platform APIs and legacy systemsExperience in scaling VC-backed fintech startupsWhat We OfferComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceProfessional development and learning opportunitiesExposure to cutting-edge AI and/or Blockchain-enabled business models in financial servicesMentorship from industry expertsReady to Join Us?If you're passionate about building world-class engineering teams, architecting cutting-edge AI and blockchain solutions, and transforming financial services at global scale, we want to hear from you!
