DLI Fellowship Manager

Position Description: Fellowship Manager Location: Hybrid/Remote in Los Angeles, CA (Saturday sessions and regional travel required) ABOUT DLI The Diversity in Leadership Institute (DLI) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is dedicated to creating equitable educational outcomes for Black and Latinx students in California by cultivating a diverse and culturally competent pipeline of public education leaders. With a focus on racial diversity, equity, and inclusion (RDEI), DLI seeks to transform the educational landscape by increasing the representation of Black and Latinx leaders in K–12 schools through our signature 4-pronged approach: Leadership Fellowships: Comprehensive programs that support aspiring school leaders of color through leadership coaching, mentorship, and professional development — including the Aspiring Principals of Color Fellowship (in partnership with Loyola Marymount University) and the Diverse Leaders Fellowship (in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education). School Leaders of Color Network (SLOCN): A membership-based network connecting current and aspiring school leaders of color through culturally responsive programming, collaboration, and advocacy. Consultancy: Partnerships with districts and charter networks to strengthen racial diversity, equity, and inclusion (RDEI) practices through workshops, assessments, and ongoing support. Coalition Building: Legislative and policy advocacy through the Charting the Course to Equity Coalition (CCEC) to promote the development and retention of educators of color across California. Through these programs, DLI drives systemic change, fosters leadership diversity, and ensures that more students in California see leaders who reflect their own identities. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Fellowship Manager to join our growing team. This role bridges program operations and direct fellow support to ensure our participants experience high-quality, well-organized, and equity-centered leadership development opportunities. The Fellowship Manager takes a people-centered approach to supporting the success of DLI's Fellowships. You will play a vital role in managing fellowship projects and events, streamlining the collection of fellowship data, and maintaining consistent communication through the management of the fellowship newsletter. Furthermore, you will actively support the facilitation of fellowship colloquial sessions and regular check-ins, fostering a strong, connected community of aspiring school leaders. WHAT YOU WILL DO Fellowship Event & Project Management Coordinate logistics for Saturday colloquium sessions, ensuring materials, spaces, and communications are organized and seamlessly executed. Manage the day-to-day projects that keep the fellowship running smoothly. Support project planning, timelines, and communications across the Fellowship programs. Fellow Support, Facilitation, & Engagement Take a highly people-centered approach to relationship building with fellows, serving as a reliable point of contact and support. Support the facilitation of DLI Colloquial Sessions, fostering community, learning, and growth among the cohorts. Conduct regular check-ins with fellows to assess progress, gather feedback, and strengthen their engagement with the program. Support fellows through the management of the fellowship newsletter, ensuring consistent, high-quality communication and connection. Data Collection & Reporting Support the collection and tracking of fellowship data, including participation, engagement, and outcome metrics. Utilize internal systems to ensure data is accurate and up-to-date, informing continuous program improvement RequirementsWHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR You might be a great fit for this role if you: You hold a Bachelors Degree and bring 2-3 years experience in education, nonprofits, or training environments, with possible backgrounds in nonprofit program management, HR/people operations, or training and development. You demonstrate strong project management skills, with excellent organization and the ability to keep complex programs on track. You take a people-centered approach, building strong relationships and prioritizing the experience and well-being of the fellows you support. You are a capable facilitator who can confidently support sessions and actively engage adult learners. You are adaptable and thrive in fast-paced environments, with availability to work Saturdays to support in-person and virtual sessions. You center equity and are passionate about developing leaders who reflect the communities they serve. BenefitsBENEFITS AND COMPENSATION Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 (commensurate with experience) Benefits Include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 403(b) retirement plan with employer contribution 12 days of accrued PTO plus 2 weeks of paid winter office closure Technology and home office stipend Ongoing professional development opportunities This is a hybrid position based in the Los Angeles Metro area and will require regular in-person participation for select Saturday sessions, events, and team meetings.
