This role sits at the intersection of accounting, operations, trading, and risk management. The position supports accurate reporting, hedge effectiveness, and risk visibility across platforms. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and is interested in developing a deeper understanding of metal price exposure.Commodities Risk Work cross-functionally with accounting/finance, operations, trading, and risk teams to ensure data consistency, transparent communication, and timely information sharing.Coordinate information from accounting, operations, trading, and risk management to reconcile physical exposure to exchange-traded derivative positions.Reconcile commodity price exposure by validating priced vs. unpriced positions, pricing formulas, and timing differences tied to LME, CME, or COMEX indices.Ensure physical quantities, pricing status, and market basis are correctly recorded and reflected through a daily position reconciliation.Perform monthly and year-end-closing processes related to reconciliations and hedge accounting.Execute hedge accounting processes for LME, CME, and COMEX hedges, including documentation, designation, and ongoing effectiveness assessments.Identify and resolve discrepancies related to inventory, pricing, valuation, or hedge alignment. Overall ResponsibilitiesServe as backup on various treasury functions, including risk managementPerform other duties as assigned1-3 years of accounting or finance experience with a focus on data reconciliations.Advanced Excel skills, experience with ERP systems (RIMAS, SAP, or similar) preferred, basic programming skills a plus.Strong attention to detail with the ability to investigate and explain variances.PreferredBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, engineering, or related fieldSteel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
