Manager, PlanningThis job is a member of the Planning Team within the Integrated Operations Division. Responsible for leading a team of analysts/planners with significant bottom line impact to production performance within Tech Ops.What you'll do:Leads a team of analysts/planners responsible for developing/executing/maintaining and monitoring shop repair scheduling, bill of works, metric development and analysis, and material planningIdentifies new opportunities to leverage available tools, processes, best practices, and reportingDevelops analysts/planners to ensure a high level of job proficiency and prepare them for future roles with increased responsibilityDevelops and identifies project timelines, goals, and stakeholdersWorks with department managers to identify business challenges and create solutions to address challengesUpdates senior leadership on project milestonesCompletes justifications for projects and initiativesUses various data sources to identify areas of optimization and performance improvement for departmentResolves department issues and sets deadlines for activitiesImproves communication within teamsProvides guidance/coaching/mentorship to analysts/planners & empowers them to make effective, timely decisionsFocuses on customer needs & requirementsAll you'll need for success:Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, Accounting or other business related field or equivalent experience/training 4 years experience within Airline OperationsPreferred Qualifications: Certification in Lean Six Sigma 5 years'of experience within Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations preferredSkills, Licenses & Certifications: Ability to modify existing processes by correcting problems, resolving issues and updating existing work methods Employee First - Customer first attitude Forward thinking, big picture, visionary Strong aptitude for working with other departments including Finance, Base Operations, and others Manage multiple projects simultaneously Proven experience in leading and motivating others Takes ownership and promotes collaboration/teamwork Effectively and professionally manage pressure with serious time commitment Lead, empower, and motivate employees Influence decision making using facts/data/trends and validate assumptions Strong financial acumen Follows instructions, processes and procedures Ability to correct and resolve issues/problems in processes with the help of existing procedures, norms and processesWhat you'll get:Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
