This job, along with the Aircraft Routing Manager on duty, will have the responsibility of over-seeing the airline operation from the Line Maintenance Planning perspective.What You'll DoAs noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced. Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.Leads a team of line maintenance planners that are responsible for developing, executing, maintaining and monitoring base planning schedules, line maintenance bill of works and established departmental metricsResponsible for ensuring that all aspects of planned work are properly resourced from a labor, material, tooling and facility perspectiveIdentifies new opportunities to leverage available tools, processes and best practicesHas responsibility and oversees the operation from the Line Planning/Aircraft Routing perspective. This position, along with the Aircraft Routing, Manager on Duty, carries the authority to act as the Management representative for decisions within the authority of the Line Maintenance Planning DepartmentWorks with department managers to identify business challenges and create solutions to address challengesUses various data sources to identify areas of optimization and performance improvement for departmentSeeks out action plans and identifies corrective action for departmentImproves communication with both internal and external customersProvides guidance/coaching/mentorship to analysts/planners & empowers them to make effective, timely decisions and prepares them for future roles with increased responsibility All you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED equivalency5 years job related experiencePreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, Accounting or other business related field or equivalent experience/training3 years of work experience in a Maintenance or Materials Planning leadership roleAirframe and Powerplant License or equivalent experienceKnowledge of company policies and procedures and functional automation applicationsSkills, Licenses & CertificationsKnowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.Ability to modify existing processes by correcting problems, resolving issues and updating existing work methodsEmployee First - Customer first attitudeProven experience in leading and motivating others by empowering and motivating employeesTakes ownership and promotes collaboration and teamworkEffectively and professionally manage under pressure with limited time constraintsInfluence decision making using data and trends to validate assumptionsAbility to correct and resolve issues/problems in processes with the help of existing procedures, industry norms and processesAbility to multi-task and manage multiple prioritiesWhat You'll GetFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer:Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
