As a 24/7 operation, we offer shelter for up to 21 days, with a goal of Family Reunification. We are funded by grants from various Michigan departments, federal departments, community donations, family support, making our services free for youth and families. We offer counseling, life skills training, and a wide range of recreational activities to help them discover their strengths, build resiliency, and envision a brighter future. If you are ready to be part of a compassionate and supportive team that helps young people thrive, we invite you to consider joining us.Position Description: As a compassionate and dedicated member of our team, you will be at the forefront of helping youth facing crisis, runaway, and homelessness situations. In this role, you'll supervise and guide up to 6 residents aged 12-17 through their daily structured schedules and activities, while facilitating group sessions, educational programs, life skills training, and recreational activities. Your trauma-informed, strengths-based support will make a difference as you assist clients and families in conflict resolution and crisis management. Handling the 24-hour crisis line, conducting phone and in-person assessments for prospective clients, and maintaining daily behavioral and observation documentation are integral parts of your responsibilities. You will also contribute to case management, help maintain the facility, and have opportunities to engage in community outreach. Ability to work occasional holidays is necessary.Compensation: 15.00 hourly to start, with shift differentials for weekend shifts, Fridays 3-11 pm, and midnights shifts. Time and a half will be paid for holidays.Benefits: 403b Retirement Plan with 10% matching, earned PTO, and Employment Assistance ProgramMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma1-2 years' experience in a role directly or indirectly related to human/social servicesValid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check with respect to any employee where driving is an essential function of the position.Proof of a negative TB (tuberculosis) testAbility to pass criminal and child abuse/neglect background checksExcellent communication skills, both written and oralComputer proficiencyFlexibility and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environmentAbility to multitask effectively in a fast paced, demanding environmentAbility to work with a challenging and diverse populationAbility to work evenings and weekendsPreferred Qualifications: Associates or Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a human services program, or in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Counseling, Mental Health, Family Services, Human Services, Criminal Justice)2+ years' experience in a role related to a human/social services with experience with adolescentsTrauma Informed Care and Positive Youth Development knowledgeConflict resolution skills
