HYBRID ROLE > 3 DAYS/WEEK ONSITE IN ATLANTA6 Months ContractSummarySeeking a hands‐on Security Engineer focused on Web Application Firewall (WAF) operations. You will manage and tune WAF protections, analyze traffic and logs, reduce false positives, and partner with product/engineering to safely launch features. This role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years of security experience who enjoys practical WAF rule tuning and incident support.ResponsibilitiesImplement and maintain WAF protections across web/API properties.Write and tune WAF rules (e.g., custom rules, bot controls, rate limits)Analyze logs/alerts to identify malicious patterns and false positives; adjust policies.Collaborate with product/engineering to integrate WAF in the SDLC and CI/CD.Build automation and capabilities via code to support WAF program.Document runbooks, change procedures, and playbooks for common scenarios.Participate in on call rotation.Requirements2+ years of experience with Cloud environments2+ years of scripting experience; Python/Bash/Go Lang (at least one of these)2+ years of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experiencePreferredTerraform/CloudFormation for WAF config as code; CDN integrationsSecurity certs (e.g., GIAC/GWAPT, CISSP/CSSLP) are a plus, but not requiredOracle Cloud or GCP experienceSoft SkillsClear communicator who can work with product, engineering, and operationsTechnologyExperience with at least one major WAF (Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly NGWAF, AWS WAF, Azure)Strong understanding of HTTP/S, OWASP Top 10, and basic API security concepts.Comfort with log analysis (e.g., Splunk)Scripting experience (Python/Bash/Go Lang)EducationN/AThe estimated pay range for this position is USD $55.00/hr - USD $60.50/hr.
