Position Overview The Senior Director, Retail East Coast is responsible for shaping and driving the commercial performance of Diptyque's retail network across the Eastern & Central United States and Canada. This role oversees a complex, multi-market portfolio and is accountable for delivering sustained business growth while preserving the brand's elevated positioning. This role reports directly into the SVP, Sales - Americas. As a key member of the retail leadership team, this role operates with full ownership of business outcomes, setting regional strategy, driving execution through a team of Area leaders and Store Director of our Madison Maison, and influencing cross-functional decision-making. The Senior Director ensures strong alignment between brand vision and in-store experience, while maintaining a sharp focus on profitability, operational discipline, and talent development. This NYC-based role requires a highly visible leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and lead through influence across all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities Sales and Business Leadership Own and drive overall business performance across the retail portfolio Develop and execute regional strategies to achieve sales growth and profitability targets Analyze business trends and performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and action plans Drive disciplined decision-making across all aspects of the business including sales, labor, inventory, and expenses to increase store productivity and achieve EBITDA goal Partner closely with Finance to lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost management initiatives Strategic Planning Translate company priorities into a clear and actionable regional strategy Identify opportunities to optimize market performance, expand presence, and strengthen client development Monitor competitive landscape and bring forward insights to inform leadership decisions Support new store openings and ensure long-term performance and market relevance Talent Leadership and Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of Area Managers across the region Hold leaders accountable for performance, ensuring consistent delivery against business objectives Build a strong succession pipeline and develop future leaders within the organization Partner with Human Resources on talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and employee relations Client Experience Champion a consistent and elevated client experience across all locations Drive clienteling strategies and CRM utilization to strengthen client loyalty Ensure all boutiques uphold brand standards in service, storytelling, and visual presentation Act as a brand ambassador within the region Operations and Visual Merchandising Ensure operational standards and brand guidelines are consistently upheld across all stores Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to optimize inventory flow and in-store efficiency Identify and implement process improvements to support scalability and performance Maintain strong visual merchandising standards aligned with brand expectations Analyze and ensure visual merchandising productivity in each location Compliance and Policy Adherence Ensure all locations operate in alignment with company policies, labor laws, and safety standards Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, and documentation Ensure timely and accurate execution of all operational and compliance requirements Strategic and Cross-Functional Leadership Act as a key partner to executive leadership in shaping regional priorities and business strategy Collaborate locally and globally with Finance, Marketing, Sales Excellence, Training, and Operations to support business objectives Provide insights and feedback from the field to inform corporate initiatives and decision-making Serve as a critical link between corporate teams and the field, ensuring clarity and execution Qualifications and Skills 8-10 years of relevant multi-unit retail leadership experience with oversight of large and complex store networks. Experience in a luxury or premium retail environment preferred. Proven ability to lead leaders and drive performance across geographically dispersed teams Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience managing and influencing financial performance Excel in operational excellence and client experience.
