Maintenance Planner

Job TitleMaintenance PlannerPosition OverviewShaw Industries is seeking a highly organized and proactive Maintenance Planner to support our 24/7 resilient manufacturing facility in Ringgold, GA, playing a key role in maximizing equipment reliability and overall plant performance. In this role, you will plan and schedule maintenance work, kit and stage parts, coordinate contractors, and manage priorities across a complex operation that includes extrusion, coating, die cutting, profiling, packaging, and critical utility systems. You will partner closely with maintenance, operations, and safety teams to ensure work is executed efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime, while also driving continuous improvement through optimized preventive maintenance strategies, CMMS utilization, and data-driven decision making.This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys problem solving and cross-functional collaboration, and wants to make a direct, measurable impact on operational success.ResponsibilitiesAdministrate Shaw’s CMMS software systems and train others on the use of SHARP.Develop PM/PDM tasks in CMMS as needed, based on cadences from data analyzation.Schedule and plan work orders for completion to include both run time and scheduled downtime.Schedule contractors to complete work orders/request as needed and review contractor safety guidelines and agreements.Aid in the management of stock room items and inventories.Conducts weekly work order priority meetings with managers across the plant to ensure work is scheduled for timely execution and in conjunction with available equipment and maintenance resources. Ensures the prioritization process is in place for all open work orders, by craft, labor hours, and priority.Ensures timely execution, completion, and closure of work orders.Actively pursues identification and selection of planned job opportunities to maximize application of planning and scheduling principles.Supports execution of maintenance work by receiving, prioritizing, planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance work orders.Develops clear, detailed job procedures that align with Operations, Safety, Quality/Claims, Production, and Maintenance that are cost effective and executed in a timely manner.Evaluates feedback for corrections and enhancements. Conducts follow-ups to ensure adherence of prescribed schedules and standards. Works with personnel to identify, purchase, and stage necessary parts and materials required for the job.Submits requisitions for parts, materials, and rental equipment for job support.Works with Maintenance Managers to identify Preventative Maintenance opportunities to new and old equipment. Assists with creating and optimizing PM Procedures.Maintains and manages facility work order backlog, reporting out on execution failures and delays to management team.Works with SAFE Manager to ensure Safety and Environmental work orders are completed in a timely manner.Benchmarks and works with other MP’s in developing standardized job procedures. Documents and maintains maintenance planning and scheduling performance measures as well as other CMMS Metrics through –Weekly completion reportsWeekly aging work order reportsCompleted work ordersMisses to scheduled work orders to supervisors and engineers for review. Identifies growth opportunities / deficient areas to continually improve performance of Planning and Scheduling. Assists with EIT/RPT improvements across the facility as needed.Builds equipment trees in CMMS on all newly installed or modified equipment.Creates tasks in CMMS to adhere to EHS and OSHA compliance guidelines.Perform other duties or complete tasks as needed or required.
