Internships at APA - Leadership Development Institute

Applications are currently being accepted for interns to support the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) family of programs from May 2026 through August 2026. This is a paid internship, and interns will commit to up to 20 hours a week.The LDI provides internships to fellows who have an interest in or are pursuing careers in behavioral health, and for professionals looking to enhance their skills through mentoring and training. The LDI consists of programs that promote psychological science to bolster and enhance the behavioral health workforce.We have interns who help with our programs by providing logistical and administrative support. This is not a clinical or research-focused internship. Requirements:A student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study with an interest in psychology or behavioral health discipline.The internship is a fully remote Interested students must reside in a state that meets APA's residency requirements.Availability to work up to 20 hours a The internship is primarily for Monday-Friday during normal business hours, but there is occasional weekend support needed.This is largely an administrative internship opportunity, providing programmatic support. This is not a research or clinical position. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are needed.Interns can expect to learn the following:Program and grant administration and managementPromotional material production and disseminationSurvey creation, data collection, and analysis for program improvement and implementationJob Location - Remote: APA internships may be considered for remote work eligibility as defined in APA's Flexible Work Policy and are subject to approval.
