Our Hospital and Clinic do not treat general illnesses, including COVID-19, and has required health safety measures in place for everyone prior to entering the facility, including temperature and symptom checks, required PPE and other health hygiene measures.Job Summary:Insight is looking for a compassionate and team-oriented Operating Room (OR) Circulator, to join our Medical Staff in order to provide patient care second to none! As an OR Circulator, your expertise and dedication to patient care will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency during surgical procedures. We rely on your dedication and meticulousness to uphold a clean and hygienic environment, oversee operations in the operating room, and prioritize the well-being of patients throughout their entire journey in the OR, ensuring a smooth transition to the recovery area. Join a dynamic team of passionate healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced and fulfilling environment.Benefits for our Full Time Team Members:Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coveragePaid time off, including vacation, holidays, and sick leave401K with Matching; offerings vested fully @ 3 months of employment paired with eligibility to contributeShort & Long Disability, and Life Term insurance, complementary of Full Time EmploymentAdditional Supplementary coverages offered @ employee's elections: Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, AD&D, etc.Job Duties:Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutionsCoordinate with surgeons to understand procedure-specific needs and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are availableConduct preoperative patient assessments, verify surgical site and procedure with the surgical team, and assist with patient positioningMaintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor the sterile field throughout surgical proceduresCommunicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient operationMonitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies promptlyManage the proper function of surgical equipment and instruments, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnelEnsure proper handling and labeling of specimens collected during surgery for laboratory analysisImplement safety protocols to protect the patient, including verification of surgical site and patient identityAdminister medications and solutions as required under the supervision of the anesthesiologist or surgeonDocument perioperative care accurately in the patient's medical record, including any medication given and the patient's responseOversee the environmental control of the operating room, including temperature, humidity, and lightingAssist with the transfer of patients to the recovery area and provide a report to the receiving staffParticipate in post-operative debriefingOther duties as assignedQualifications:Current RN (Registered Nurse) license in the state of practiceBLS (Basic Life Support) CertificationACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification preferredMinimum of one year experience as an OR circulator in an acute care settingThorough understanding of sterile techniques and surgical proceduresAbility to function in a fast-paced, high-stress environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesCapable of making quick and accurate decisionsProficient in the use of electronic health record systemsKnowledge of operating room standards and practicesPhysical stamina to stand for long periods and assist in lifting and positioning patientsAvailability to work flexible hours, including on-call, nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionalsCommitment to continuing education and staying current with advancements in perioperative nursing practicesPhysical Requirements:May be expected to lift up to 50 pounds or up to 150 pounds with assistance. May be expected to push or pull 150-300 pounds with assistanceWork is of medium demand; walking or standing most of the time while on dutyVisual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties requiredOptimal auditory acuity requiredAble to look at a computer screen for long periods of timeManual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned dutiesPhysical conditions are clean, neat and well litMay be subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions needed to be taken is essential.
