Clinical Nurse - Radiotherapy ServicesLocation: Howard University Hospital - Washington, DCRole SummaryHoward University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse - Radiotherapy Services to join our Oncology team. This role provides professional nursing care to patients receiving radiation therapy treatments and supportive oncology services. The Clinical Nurse ensures safe treatment delivery, patient education, symptom management, and coordination of care throughout the radiotherapy continuum.This is an opportunity to work in a highly specialized, patient-centered oncology environment within an academic medical center committed to excellence, equity, and compassionate care.What You'll DoProvide direct nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy treatmentsPerform patient assessments before, during, and after treatment sessionsMonitor and manage radiation-related side effects and symptomsEducate patients and families regarding treatment plans, expectations, and self-careCollaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary teamsAdminister medications and supportive therapies as prescribedMaintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical recordEnsure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control protocolsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety activitiesRequired QualificationsGraduate of an accredited School of NursingBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiredCurrent license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of ColumbiaMinimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experienceOncology, infusion, or radiation therapy experience preferredOncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferredCurrent American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification requiredAbout Howard University HospitalWith over 150 years of service, Howard University Hospital is a nationally recognized academic medical center located on the campus of a Historically Black University in Washington, DC.
