We're always on the lookout for smart people who are committed to continuous improvement, customer service and quality.JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: Quality Technician (Dimensional) FLSA STATUS: Non ExemptREPORTS TO: Technical Manager, Dimensional EngineeringSUMMARYUtilizing the latest PC-DMIS CMM Programming Software, product CAD data, and customer drawings (GD&T) this position is responsible for developing the measurement programs and collecting the measurement data used by engineering and manufacturing to ensure the products we sell meet or exceed our customers' expectations. The Quality Technician (Dimensional) is responsible for creating inspection reports, providing reasoned feedback regarding the products being measured, and maintaining traceability between the inspection reports, CMM Programs, Product CAD, and GD&T Drawings. Coordinates and interfaces with Project, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers and Program Managers to ensure customer requirements are met.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESUnder general supervision, the Quality Technician (Dimensional) is responsible for the following tasks:Directs, Develops, and Performs Dimensional Inspections to ensure compliance with engineering and customer specifications.Develops Inspection Programs that satisfy the requirements outlined in laboratory requests, supplied GD&T drawings and other customer specifications.Performs multi-piece dimensional inspections that utilize CMM, Optical Comparator and/or other appropriate measurement equipment to ensure the collection of accurate measurement information.Records measurements, reviews, and compiles measurement results into official reportsIdentifies issues during the inspection process and provides feedback to the requisitioning engineer.Works within the lab schedule to ensure that inspection projects are completed on time and equipment is utilized efficiently.Preforms verification of metrology equipment (ASME B89), maintains equipment performance logs.Performs Gage Certification, CMM Gage R&R and Capability StudiesOther duties and tasks as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEA minimum of 6 years CMM experience with at least 4 years of programming experienceSKILLS AND ABILITIES:A working knowledge of PC-DMIS CMM Programming Software and Microsoft ExcelA working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the interpretation of engineering drawings.Possesses good spatial reasoning.Fluent in English.Possesses the ability learn quickly and make reasoned decisions based on limited information as demonstrated by a minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional score of 20 on the cognitive portion).Automotive quality control and CAD experience is a plus.Agreement to complete all post-hire required training.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSThis position typically does require less than 5% travel.DISCLAIMER
