IonQ's advancements in quantum networking position the company as a leader in building the quantum internet.We are looking for a Senior Process Technician - Packaging to execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) to package ion traps for use in quantum computers. As a Senior Process Technician, you'll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world's best quantum computers to solve the world's most complex problems.Responsibilities:Execute standard operating procedures to assemble, inspect, and test packaged ion traps with a quality-first mindset.Work closely with the process and manufacturing engineers to provide feedback/improvement for standard operating procedures.Support daily general cleanroom operations such as 5S activities, re-stocking consumables, etc.You'd be a good fit with:3+ years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment in the semiconductor (or adjacent) industryExperience handling and assembling small, delicate, electrical and optical componentsAbility to work independently and in a team setting, as well as cross functionally with various organizations.Detail oriented individual with the ability to demonstrate fine motor skills (for example: experience reworking microelectronic devices such as wirebond rework or soldering rework).Experience working with hand tools and performing small lab repairs.Ability to read, understand, and follow blueprints, technical specifications, and operating procedures.Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious workExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood computer skills with proficiency in Google Software Suite (e.g. Sheets, Slides) and/or MS Office.You'd be a great fit with:2-year technical degree5+ years of hands on experience in a fast-paced, high-tech, high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environment in the semiconductor industryExperience in micro-electronics and/or opto-electronics assembly, using and troubleshooting equipment such as:Wirebonding machinesDie-attach/pick-and-place machinesSolder reflow ovensHand soldering equipmentEpoxy dispense (automated or manual) equipmentMicroscopesMetrology Equipment (CMM, Profilometer, etc.)Electrical testing equipmentExperience working in an engineering/development cleanroom environment (e.g. ISO Class 6 cleanroom with fully cleanroom gowning)Experience working in opto-electrical packagingExperience troubleshooting various manufacturing equipmentExperience with cryogenic systems.Experience with ERP, PLM and MES systemsLocation: College Park, MDTravel: No regular travel is expected for this roleJob ID: 1368The approximate base hourly pay range for this position is $28.62 - $34.56. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
