The Refinery Operator is accountable and responsible for the refinery of oils meeting established quality and customer specifications.Schedule & Training:New hires will initially work an 8-hour day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, no overtime) during a 6-month training period.Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to a permanent night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and work a rotating schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off.Key Responsibilities: Refines, bleaches and deodorizes crude vegetable oils into refined oils for human consumptionProcesses samples utilizing lab equipment to obtain and record values of oil in processMonitors and adjusts operations using Lab test results and computerized controlled systems to meet quality and production requirementsDistributes crude and finished oil in and out of oil tanks as process and situation dictatesLearn processing controls using a computerized systemComplete all personal required safety trainingsOperate forklift as needed after proper training/certificationRead and follow Standard Operating Procedures and formsEnsure a clean and safe work environment adhering to food safety guidelinesLearn and maintain proper use of personal protection equipment (P.P.E.)Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the Superintendent of Operations and the Plant ManagerEnsure all tasks are completed safely as assigned to the shiftParticipate in all audits, ensuring all areas are audit-ready at all timesFollow all safety rules and requirements, attending safety meetings, and tailgatesOther duties as directed or required.Qualifications: Must be, or become forklift operator certified3-5 years of processing equipment operations experienceIntermediate level in general computer applications usePosition Requirements : Have the ability to climb stairs and laddersAble to work in all weather conditionsAble to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basisMust be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as directed by managementMust be able to clearly communicate to co-workers and managementFood Safety Policy:Adams Group is committed to producing and distributing high quality products through adherence to industry and regulatory standards.
