Job DescriptionFood Safety Supervisor - Arbuckle, CAThis is an exempt, salary level position.Work that Protects the World's Food SupplyAs a Food Safety Supervisor at our Arbuckle, CA milling facility, you'll play a hands-on leadership role in maintaining the standards that keep our products safe, our operations compliant, and our people accountable to one another.This position reports to the Regional Quality and Plant Manager.Position ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day quality and food safety leadership across the facility, serving as the primary resource for compliance and continuous improvementSupport facility systems including ADM Weigh, APecS, Sphera, PolicyTech, and TLCSupport and coordinate regulatory and third-party audits, including FDA, BRC, Organic, Gluten Free, and customer audits, and complete associated annual compliance tasksPartner with ADM's Quality Center of Excellence and Food Safety teams to drive compliance and improvement initiativesDevelop and implement quality and food safety requirements for human food and animal food applications, where applicableMonitor the quality and safety of incoming ingredients and finished productsManage prerequisite programs that support the Quality Management SystemOversee non-conformance investigations, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and documentedLead Cost of Poor Quality oversight and implementationSupport Food Defense Vulnerability Assessment activities under Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Intentional Adulteration requirementsAssist with Internal Risk Management (IRM) score improvementsManage the Quality Control team, ensuring analytical programs provide accurate, timely support to operations and customersLead facility-wide food safety culture through training, employee development, and consistent communication of standardsOversee third-party pest control contractors and maintain working knowledge of fumigation processes for bins and warehouse areasApply knowledge of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) grading methods as neededRole QualificationsA bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or at least seven years of equivalent food safety experiencePreventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certificationA California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CA DPR) Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) in Categories A and M, or willingness to obtainWorking knowledge of document management systems (such as PolicyTech), spreadsheets, and databasesFamiliarity with applicable food safety regulations and requirementsStrong communication skills - you're comfortable working across all levels of an organizationDemonstrated ability to lead and develop a teamOrganized, with solid time management and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environmentAbility to evaluate information and data to make sound decisionsWorking ConditionsThis role works in an active milling facility. You may be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, heights, dusty environments, and potential chemical and food allergens as part of normal operations.
