Design Engineer - CAD
Education Requirements:- Associate's or Bachelor's degreeRequired Skills for the Design Engineer:- Foundry Engineer experience (Tools Quotation, Casting Scrap defects analysis & resolution, Foundry process knowledge, no-bake process, cold box process)- Foundry tooling design experience (Pattern and core boxes, Complex modeling, intuitive knowledge of P/L, offsets, clearances, layout in tool build, no-bake process, cold box process)- Creo modeling and flow simulation analysis using SolidCast- Strong CAD skills (Creo preferred)- Machining print reading and geometric tolerance understanding- Casting simulation experiences (SolidCast preferred)Desired Technical Skills:- CNC milling knowledgeDesign Engineer Overview:- Design foundry tooling in Creo software using standards in place and best practices for no-bake molding process with the objective to improve quality and reduce lead time on tooling constructionResponsibilities:- RFQ tooling, Design New Pattern Tooling, resolve casting issues, Re-gate, Simulate, all other tasks as needed.- Interact with managers on directions and priorities of workflow.- Interact with Tool designers and Engineers for tool build, process flow.- Interact with Pattern Makers for tool build direction.
