Senior HR, Contracts & Legal Operations ManagerLocation: Northern New Jersey (Hybrid)Reports To: COO & CFOTeam Oversight: HR Coordinator and Administrative Support StaffLocation: Northern New Jersey (Hybrid)The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across human resources, compliance, and contract/legal operations. They should be comfortable managing the full employee lifecycle, handling employee relations matters, reviewing and redlining contracts, and partnering closely with leadership and outside counsel. This candidate should thrive in a hands-on environment and be able to balance HR operations with legal and compliance responsibilities while supporting organizational growth and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesManage the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, promotions, transfers, performance management, terminations, and offboardingMaintain HR policies, employee handbook, and compliance processes in accordance with federal, New Jersey, and multi-state employment lawsHandle employee relations matters, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement documentationEnsure compliance with I-9, E-Verify, background checks, training requirements, and employee record retentionCoordinate benefits administration and open enrollment with external vendors and brokersReview, summarize, draft, and redline contracts including NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, vendor agreements, SaaS contracts, and leasesMaintain contract repository, renewal tracking, key obligations, and notice periodsPartner with outside counsel on legal matters, employment issues, and contract escalationsCollaborate with Finance and leadership on headcount planning, compensation alignment, and operational improvementsSupervise and support junior HR/administrative team membersRecommend and implement process improvements across HR systems and contract lifecycle management toolsQualificationsBachelor’s degree required10+ years of experience in HR, legal operations, contracts management, paralegal, or related fieldsStrong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations practicesProven experience reviewing and redlining contracts and identifying legal/compliance risksExperience working in a multi-state HR environmentStrong organizational, communication, writing, and conflict resolution skillsAbility to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretionExperience with HRIS platforms, contract management systems, and legal operations tools preferredCertifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, or paralegal certification are a plus
