Principal Manager
The Principal Manager is responsible for growing the market within their assigned division and managing current and future principal supplier relationships. The primary responsibilities include close collaboration with sales, technology & innovation, marketing, and suppliers. The Principal Manager will be responsible for integrating the strategy of our Principals through our sales team and managing all aspects of the Principal Supplier relationship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
Maintain, grow, and develop current suppliers through increased volume, gross profit, product mix, and strategic portfolio expansion
Responsible for new supplier development and our new principal opportunity pipeline
Business development in conjunction with commercial teams for targeted Principals
Principal administration/relationship management (assigned list)
Perform competitive analysis on potential new Principal and Target Principals
Develop and execute business plans for assigned Principals
Partner with Principals and sales to develop growth programs that deliver high value to our customers and above average mutual profitable growth
Significant communication, coordination, and travel to Principals in their home markets (Domestic as well as International, e.g. Europe, South America, Asia)
Activity tracking/analysis including the following
P&L – profitable growth
Principal KPI’s – pipeline development/target accounts/lead generation
Samples
Competitive analysis
Market trend analysis
Communications including, but not limited to, the following:
Open flow of communication with Sales, Principals, Management, Operations, and Regulatory
Coordination of product and market training
Marketing programs in conjunction with Barentz/Principal Marketing teams
New product launches
Supplier performance reviews
Collaborate across all divisions with other Principal Managers for maximum leverage to support opportunities throughout Barentz
Support the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures
Support and lead by example, Barentz’ Purpose, Values, Fundamentals, and Strategies

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other sciences required, Master’s preferred
Minimum 15 years industry experience in applicable vertical/markets
Previous successful project management experience
Supplier and business development experience required, preferably in a global environment
Ability to develop meaningful/productive business relationships at all levels to gain alignment
Technical sales focus with specialty products
Experience in the procurement of specialty ingredients
Exceptional organizational, planning, communications, and negotiation skills
Strong computer/technical skills
International business skills
Excellent use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook
Strong problem solving, organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills
Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to adapt communication style to the audience as needed.
